Kim Delaney has won Emmy Awards for the role of Detective Diane Russell. Kim Delaney has been renowned as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABC's NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole child of a United Auto Workers senior executive and a domestic worker, was raised by four siblings. When she was a little girl, Delaney wanted to work as a reporter in the courtroom. However, in high school the time came when she began modeling for commercials, and later after moving to New York. Her first acting job was as a teen innocent on All My Children, a 1981 soap opera. The career of Delaney has been filled with numerous television films and dramas. Her personal life unlike her professional life hasn't been successful and happy. There were two divorces that failed and fought with alcohol addiction. The year 2005 was the time she lost custody of the sole child she was born with.
